Small Churches Experience Growth With Technology
Thanks to new technologies small churches can now reach and attract a new generation of faithful
locally and all over the world. There are few churches that do not utilize technology in one form or another.
Some use a web site, an e-mailed newsletter, power point projector for hymn lyrics, or audio/video presentation during
services. Even small churches are putting their services on the internet and using social media such as Facebook and Twitter to invite and engage current and prospective members.
Congregations today are more technology savvy in their faith than ever before;
a church that ignores technology will see a decline in membership that over time may be impossible to over come.
The Remnant Pentecostal Church in Austin, Arkansas (www.RemnantPentecostal.com) utilizes a web site to live stream services, give links to on-line bible references and information on activities in the
church. The Mount Carmel Baptist Church of Cabot,
Arkansas (www.mcbccabot.com) uses multimedia presentations during services to draw in the congregation for a more engaging worship service as well as
having an interactive web site to keep members in touch with the church
and able to hear past services on-line.
Congregations are turning to companies such as Media Systems of Arkansas (www.MediaSystemsAR.com) to update their multimedia systems and assist them in getting the most out of today’s technology. Waylon
Gordon, owner of Media Systems of Arkansas and a pastor, has seen churches expand their multimedia ministries in many ways.
“When a church member is out of town or serving their country overseas they can still enjoy and be a part of
their church with live stream video. A message with special meaning to members can be shared on social
media or YouTube and used to interest someone to visit the church in person”
states Mr. Gordon. “A quality multimedia system can make a church service more enjoyable and thoughtful for those in the
church or watching on-line.”
No longer just possible for large or mega churches any church can have social media interaction, a well designed multimedia system, a web site and more.
